Donate for Sanitary Pads Distribution: Ek Parivartan Foundation

Menstrual hygiene is a critical yet often overlooked aspect of women’s health in India. Many women and girls, particularly in underprivileged communities, lack access to affordable and safe sanitary pads. The Ek Parivartan Foundation has launched the Sanitary Pads Distribution Initiative to address this pressing issue, ensuring menstrual health and hygiene for every woman and girl in need.

vision:

To empower women and girls by ensuring access to safe menstrual hygiene products, promoting dignity, health, and well-being.

Mission:

To distribute free sanitary pads to underserved communities, educate women and girls about menstrual health, and break the stigma surrounding menstruation.

Key Activities of the Sanitary Pads Distribution Initiative

1. Free Sanitary Pads Distribution

We provide free sanitary pads to women and girls in low-income communities, focusing on:

  • Urban slums

  • Rural villages

  • Schools and colleges in underserved areas

  • Shelter homes and orphanages

2. Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Camps

In addition to distributing sanitary pads, we organize awareness sessions to:

  • Educate women and girls about menstrual hygiene practices.

  • Address myths and misconceptions about menstruation.

  • Promote the use of hygienic products over traditional, unsafe alternatives.

3. School Outreach Programs

To support adolescent girls, we:

  • Distribute free sanitary pads in schools.

  • Conduct workshops on menstrual health and hygiene.

  • Create safe spaces for girls to discuss menstruation without fear or shame.

4. Sustainable Menstrual Products

Recognizing the environmental impact of disposable pads, we:

  • Promote reusable and biodegradable menstrual products.

  • Partner with manufacturers to make these products affordable and accessible.

  • Educate communities on the benefits of sustainable alternatives.

5. Training and Capacity Building

We train women from local communities to:

  • Produce low-cost sanitary pads as a source of livelihood.

  • Become menstrual health ambassadors to spread awareness.

Stories of Change

1. A Better Tomorrow for Rina

Rina, a 14-year-old girl from a rural village, missed school every month due to a lack of access to sanitary pads. Through our initiative, Rina received free pads and attended an awareness session. Today, she attends school regularly and educates her friends about menstrual hygiene.

2. Empowering Women Through Production

Sunita, a widow and mother of two, struggled to earn a livelihood. After joining our training program, she started producing reusable pads and selling them in her village. This not only gave her a steady income but also improved menstrual hygiene in her community.

Future Goals

To scale up the Sanitary Pads Distribution Initiative, we aim to:

  • Distribute 1 million sanitary pads annually by 2030.

  • Establish menstrual hygiene awareness programs in 1,000 schools.

  • Train 5,000 women in producing sustainable menstrual products.

  • Launch an online platform for menstrual health education and donations.
